Prospective transfer student needs suggestions

Hi, i am going into my sophomore year at the University of Vermont, but i am thinking that i would do better at a smaller school. I am an environmental studies major, so i am looking for schools with good environmental programs. Because of a bad first semester, i have a 2.9 gpa currently which i will certainly raise this coming semester. Should i go for the transfer for this spring, or wait until next fall so i can get my gpa higher? Any suggestions for small (less than 7,000 students) colleges with good environmental programs? thanks

Wait, till next fall, for two reasons.

You’ll get that GPA up.

You’ll be Junior transfer.

Who would you rather accept? A Sophomore with a 2.9 GPA, or a Junior with a 3.3 GPA?
