Prospective U of I Transfer

I understand transferring to U of I is not as easy task, I wanted to know, apart from getting high grades, can I improve my chances of being accepted as an undergraduate transfer to University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign? Keep in mind that I am aiming to be admitted into the College of Engineering for the Computer Engineering Major.

I'm planning to attend community college for the fall (since I didn't do so well), and I understand that simply having a good CC grade isn't enough (would anyone like to recommend a CC in Chicago?).

I'm not sure how this agreement works but there is the Program for the Articulation of Engineering Science (PAES) for City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), if anyone knows anything about it, please shed some light on the topic. The only thing I do know is, the description which is vague:

"Guaranteed Admission Agreement between City Colleges of Chicago & UIC College of Engineering. Qualifying CCC graduates will be admitted to one of the Engineering majors."

Any advice is much appreciated :)

bump~~~~~~

The best thing to do is to contact the UIC admission office and simply ask about the program. At the same time, talk to the CCC you are interested in attending about it too. These are the people who can give you the details.

I have some familiarity with the CCC system as my school, Illinois Institute of Technology, takes a lot of transfer students from CCC. Make sure you get into the highest level Calculus and science classes you can and look into which of the City Colleges do the best job teaching pre-engineering courses. In my experience, Harold Washington and Truman do a pretty good job.
