Hi y'all I'm currently a first year undergraduate at UCR looking to transfer to a different UC and I was just wondering if anyone that has successfully transferred from a UC to UC could help me. Does the unit credit limit also applies to UC students or do will just providing a letter of reciprocity be enough as I'm currently 28 units ahead due to taking AP courses and I'm scared I may go over the limit. Also, has anyone also done the UC intercampus visitor program and then also transferred to the school you "visited", how does the credits for that work? Any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm also planning to talk to my academic adviser about this but I just wanted some firsthand experience that someone here may have. Happy Chinese new year everyone!

AP credits never count against you for the unit cap. It is also unlikely that you will reach junior standing anytime soon minus AP…so you don’t have to worry. UC Reciprocity has nothing to do with units. It is for satisfying GE’s, and comes after you are admitted (i.e. not used against or to your advantage in the admissions process).
