Has anyone’s transcript loaded who applied to Seattle only? In other words is anyone 100% sure that their transcript is loading because of a Seattle campus decision?
I called admissions just now and of course, nothing specific, just that we will most likely be hearing back by the end of November and that they send out acceptances in batches by major. :-S
I’m so nervous and stressed out about this whole process! I just want it to be over already.
If you go to the “Academics” tab in myuw and click on “check your degree process (DARS)”, it lets you choose a campus and then select a major. Similar to the transcript trick, your classes should load here as well. If you haven’t been accepted yet, it says “this is not your major”. Might help those who don’t know which campus their transcript is loading for.
@snailshellz I’ll gladly inform you on what I know!
Intended major: Business, GPA: 3.86 ish? (I’ll be sure to post my exact stats if I “truly” get admitted), and I’m an instate CC transfer.
So far all I’ve been able to view is the unofficial transcript. I have received no emails, and the message on my UW page still says the “Thank you for applying…” message. Hopefully they’ll start moving things along and the letters start rolling in for all!
I am so confused now lol. Somebody at Foster emailed me this morning and said that all transfers received their emails last Monday night? As far as I can tell, nobody has received an email. Only the transcript trick.
Congratulations everyone!!! So lovely to hear
Anyone get accepted who applied with business as your intended major but didn’t apply to Fosters?
I’m guessing I didn’t get in since I applied for business too (but not to Fosters) and my transcript didn’t load
@Akeating don’t give up hope yet. Still the very first day that peoples transcripts have loaded. Mine haven’t loaded either so I’m nervous but still hopeful
@Akeating and @dubsup seriously don’t give up! Like I said in my earlier post, the other quarters who have a similar thread said others loaded later in the following weeks.
@akeating I agree with @dubsup ! Don’t give up hope, I hear people get admitted without even getting a transcript upload to their account!! Just to clarify, you applied to UW business, but you didn’t apply to Foster? Are you going in as a junior?
@bear44 Yes, I put business as my intended major on the application but did not apply to Foster because I realized I I want to study something different after I submitted my application and before Fosters application was due. I finish my AA in business this quarter though (taking the last 4 pre reqs I need at the moment) and stated I wanted to do business in my essay! I have 90+ credits because I did full time running start my senior year of high school 2 years ago. Definitely feel like not applying to fosters effected their decision
@bear44 @baseball112 @dubsup Thank you for the words of encouragement! I’ll stay optimistic
@Akeating Yeah, I noticed in past threads that business school people were usually first to find out, then everyone else hears back in the next few days/weeks.
What do you plan to change your major to?
I think the most pertinent question is, have any NON-Foster applicants heard back yet?
@snailshellz Good eye - you’re correct. Everyone that has posted here have been Foster applicants. Someone please correct us if this is wrong.
@Akeating I feel as if you will be treated as someone who is just applying to the campus. I really don’t believe this will affect you as negatively as you are thinking. In fact, I don’t think it will affect you positively or negatively.
You’re not applying to a competitive major, but you have a DTA (i’m sure). I think you’ll be fine.
@dubsup @snailshellz I’m non fosters and waiting but I’m scared what if I won’t know and will have to accept to another university without knowing UW status …
@JP1993 people in previous threads contacted their back up schools and asked for an extension for the deposit deadline and just explained their situation. Might want to give that try
I just reviewed last years thread for the hundredth time.
First batch of applicants were definitely all fosters.
Looks like non foster applicants/open majors (which I am) heard around the 14th of November, which was the Friday after the foster applicants were accepted.
So i’m going to chill on checking my unofficial transcript every hour until next Friday. Hopefully this gives others some piece of mind. Still going to check my mail everyday for that rejection letter, however.
@dubsup I just did the same. After mentally recording what dates transcripts have been loading last year (and it seems like last years upload dates will parallel this year), I’ve decided to restrain from checking mine until the 14th-17th. If at that point, my transcript continues to fail to load, I will wait for the letter haha.
I honestly wish I didn’t learn the transcript trick, it’s giving my life so much anxiety.
@dubsup I went through last year’s thread again today. Seems like most open majors did hear back around mid-November, but there were a couple people in the first batch that weren’t Foster! I saw some PH majors, Poli Sci, Communications… People were accepted from Nov 5-7 from what I can see, and then again from roughly Nov 11-14, and then everyone else who heard back after that point was OOS or rejected. Might have missed a couple people here and there.
I still think it’s possible we could hear something in the next few days. I’m trying not to obsessively refresh my transcript, though.
And, of course, there is the highly likely possibility that the timeline for winter transfers this year will be completely different from last year’s.
I’ve also gotten conflicting answers after speaking to two different admissions officers, with the only consensus answer being that most people will hear by the end of this month.
On a related note, I found a funny review on Yelp about UW from a frustrated transfer parent:
"This transfer admissions process at UW is ridiculous!!! My daughter applied in January to five schools and was admitted to every single one months ago. University of Washington? Yep, they said they will let her know in July. JULY??! What the hell are they waiting for?
Do they not realize that these kids have to make arrangements to uproot their entire lives and move across the country with almost no notice?"
Totally agreed, Sharon P.

@snailshellz Honestly, I feel as if any phone call to admissions will remain vague as possible. Regardless what they know they more than likely aren’t going to disclose any information other than what has been publicized on the website.
They don’t want every single applicant to find out that if you call you’re going to get up to date by the second information because that will open up “a can of worms”.
The PH major I saw that was notified early was a special case, where they asked him to submit a grade review or whatever. In my eyes, the bulk of data I mentally noted was fosters notifications from the 5th-7th, and then everyone else around the 14th roughly (didn’t look past the 14th). I agreed extremely close with @sonicnation95 and what he/she saw.
For my own sanity, I’m not going to assume I might be an anomalous applicant that finds out in between the dates we’ve all noted. A majority of the data from other forums showed people were accepted in pretty clear batches, which this year has pretty much already show it’s mirroring.
