@dubsup thank you! I’m gonna do that hopefully long enough for UW notifications… And apparently to you us OOS seemed to be last… Oh great LOL
Hey guys! I’m a UW Tacoma student currently but am waiting to hear back from Seattle. I haven’t applied to any programs because I am a sophomore so I was wondering if anyone had any tricks for checking if I got in?
As far as stats go I am a milgard freshmen direct student (that’s our business school) and have a 3.88 gpa. I talked to my advisor and she said she would be very surprised if I did not get in. But after reading all your comments it has me scared that some are getting letters already! Help my anxiety!
I’m waiting for Foster now.
Did anyone heard from Foster?
Here is my stats transferring from SCC:
combined GPA – 3.89
pre GPA – 3.9
I don’t know what my WSA score yet.
I really hope that I could get in Foster cuz I only applied for UW
(only few schools open winter transfer!! (sigh
I saw the dates in Foster email
Notification dates are as follows:
Current UW Students - November 6
Transfer Students - November 23
I’m not sure whether they will send earlier.
Too long to wait for the letter!
BTW. The period between acceptance and the first day of instruction is toooo short!!!
I think that I should find the house soon!
I’m waiting on Foster too.
This is why UW admissions is making me angry. Somebody in the admissions office told me that transfers received their email on Monday night. Then she said that “two transfer students are on hold, you will hear tomorrow (last night) by 5PM.” Still haven’t heard a word…it’s like they are messing with me for fun. I think she really had no idea what she was talking about, and I still have no idea what she was actually trying to tell me. It was in semi broken english too…
What does it mean when my unofficial transcripts load? It says ‘business school’ under college name and it says my major is ‘information systems’? I received my email from Bothell saying I was accepted into their school but I applied for a management information systems degree at the Bothell campus and the information systems degree at the Seattle campus. Bothell doesn’t have IS like Foster does. No where on my transcripts does it say bothell in parenthesis (my bothell friends said their unofficial transcripts said bothell on them) and I called admissions and they said I’d find out on Monday but waiting through this is like dying slowly haha help!
Also, do we know if the unofficial transcript trick works? And the degree audit trick was the other one…do we know these work for sure?
@fosterhopeful Yeah, you’re in. “Business School” means Foster, and it would specify Bothell on the transcript if that was the university it was for.
I’m wishing that I applied for Foster now even though I’m a math major, you guys get to hear back first :((
@dubsup I agree, it’s definitely better for our mental health to lay off MyUW and let the chips fall where they may. Trying to glean info from past threads is hard, because a lot of people make their account and just have the one “yay my transcript loaded” post with no other information. ~:>
Am I the only one who, when reading those past threads, starts “rooting” for certain applicants to get in? Hahaha
@fullmelt Yikes! Doesn’t sound good. When I spoke to a woman in the admissions office the other day, she was very friendly, but at first gave me inaccurate information until she put me on hold to check with a coworker. I think that a lot of the admissions people are trained to primarily deal with freshman admissions and probably aren’t allowed to divulge the small amount of info they do know.
Not sure what “on hold” means, like she was currently on hold with two transfer students (lol) or their decision was “on hold”? Odd. If you have the time and/or patience, I’d call back.
Alrighty well I can give people my stats, I just don’t know the admissions statistics as of right now. Sorry to be one of those “my transcript loaded” people but I was wondering what it meant.
I am a transfer student from a Washington state community college, I applied to Foster school of business.
My GPA is a 3.83 my pre requisite GPA is a 3.87 and my WSA is a 4.25. I am not a traditional student so my essay was lengthy in that I had a lot to include, including living abroad for years at a time and going through some personal hardships. If you have any more questions just let me know but thank you @snailshellz for letting me know what my transcripts meant!
@fullmelt I’m a foster applicant as well. No transcript. No letter. No email. Message hasn’t changed either in MyUW. I might call them too on Monday, since foster applicants seem to be finding out already. Sigh.
@huskyhuthuthut well I didn’t get a letter or email and my message still hasn’t changed on my UW. I called admissions yesterday and they said we’d get letters in the mail monday or tuesday. She kinda scared me though because I asked when I’d get my acceptance/rejection letter and she said “Oh you didn’t get it yet?!”. My heart jumped. Then she found out I am a transfer so that changes things a bit and she said monday - tuesday transfers will find out. All the people who are in UW have found out about Foster.
@snailshellz I agree! Definitely start rooting for certain people lol like socalsea haha. Glad they got in last winter.
I wish I applied to Foster’s as well, especially since I’m currently working on my Associates of business hah.
@fosterhopeful if you transcript loaded based on past threads that’s an extremely good indicator! Good luck to you and @huskyhuthuthut. Don’t give up hope at all until you get a rejection letter, as we’'re only one week into the notification period.
I was looking through my email from Foster (when I first turned in my application) and it stated that current UW students find out November 6 and transfer students get notified November 23rd…but from the looks of it, they might notify everyone a little earlier?
My financial aid decision is due Monday (already had an extension) for another school, and still nothing from UW. Dramaaaa hehehe
@fosterhopeful
where did you get your WSA score?
@jadey138 I’ve been planning my transfer into Foster for years and found out you can take the WSA every application period so I took it early March and got a 4.25 and then again in September of this year. I’m only assuming my March wsa was better than September and they took that grade. I haven’t received a grade back from September yet.
@snailshellz I want to get back into STEM education, something with computers!
@dubsup I was looking at it all wrong, thank you for clarifying all that to me! Thought I would be included as someone who applied for a competitive major but you’re definitely right.
Have been checking myUW wayyyy less frequently now until next week
Nice to see this forum has accumulated more company! Goodluck and/or Congratulations to everyone new to the thread!
@JP1993 I was able to get a two week extension on my due date from UWB! You can also pay the acceptance fee and then withdraw if you hear back from & decide to go to UW Seattle.
@bmck13 I don’t mean to scare you but from what I’ve seen, transferring into UWS from a 4 year University is more difficult than from a community college and even more difficult from one of UW’s other campuses. But in past threads I have seen people with all the different types of situations possible and still get in I’m sure you have a great shot with your grades! I’d say the unofficial transcript trick may also still work for you
@bmck13 I actually knew a few people who transferred from the business school at UW Bothell to the Seattle campus. Don’t lose hope!
The message on my UW account now reads “Congratulations! We are pleased to offer you admissions…” Now just waiting on Foster to send out their decisions! So in conclusion, the unofficial transcript trick DID work for me! Good luck to everyone!
Hey guys, I checked my admission page this morning and found out I was accepted too so the unofficial transcript trick worked for me as well. I’m waiting on Foster too @bear44 but does your transcript say business school? And your major?
