Protocol for filling out apps

I've heard a lot of colleges prefer the online apps. I'm clueless about computers, so how do you fill it out if it's downloaded in PDF? I was thinking I'd maybe type in the info and print it out because it's easier for me to catch mistakes in printed form and then go back on the computer and send it. Sound good?

more and more schools definitely do prefer electronic apps bcos its easier for them to process. The Common App can be typed online, saved (on their server), and printed-edited as much as you'd like. Then, when your done, just hit submit and away it goes. You can then print out a hardcopy for your files and/or save as a pdf.

Applications to the UC's work the same way -- just don't wait until Nov 30 to send them, since the UC servers always crash with the overload.

Other schools have their own online application -- just register, and your can type and edit, etc., and just send when you are done.

If you have like PDF 7, you can create text fields on PDF documents where you can type, just as if you were in MS word

works for me! thanks for the info - i'm guessing it would definitely be in my best interest to learn a little more about computers eventually.

In Acrobat 7.0.5 there's also the typewriter tool which makes it easy to type on PDFs... in super ugly monospace font, but it can save time, and it's invaluable in case your handwriting is too big for some fields.
