Proven SAT study methods?

Hello everyone. I have taken two SATs already, and I haven't really studied for either. I did a practice test and got familar with the format, but that is it. This probably seems stupid to a lot of you, but I was going through a bad time and didn't have the intiative to study.

So here are my scores:
March 2008
CR: 580 M: 610 W: 540

June 2008
CR: 620 M:560 W: 610

Anyway, I am in the top 10% of my class with a 3.6 GPA. I am not stupid so I know I can do a lot better! What I need from you guys is a very good book and plan that will help me break a 2000. I know I can do it despite the grades above.

I need a book that has been proven to increase your score, personal recommendations are very much appreciated! I would love a study plan or something to help me improve over the summer. I am looking for things that you guys yourselves have done that have improved your score.

Math is my worst subject in school and on the SAT, and I read outside of school all the time.

THANK YOU so much for any help!

Practice practice practice, especially for math. Know to “take pains”.

Get the CollegeBoard Blue Book and use those tests. I’m not exactly sure what’s good for math but for CR and WR, RocketReview is excellent.

i need that too..

A Princeton Review or Kaplan Study Class/Private Tutor, providing you have the money.

Sorry, is this the correct blue book?

It’s $13 at Overstock.com if anyone else needs it. I’m not even in my senior year yet and I’ve spent tons on review books for APs, Regents, SATs, etc. -_-

yes, entrancestone, that is the correct book.

Grammatix is very good for CR. Do alot of reading for CR too.

Math is practice but i dont know much about this, sorry. there was some amazing review book for math someone mentioned… but I forgot.

Writing is a very easy section to improve. Just review your grammar skills, and rules, and practice writing essays.

For all the sections, practice practice practice.

it doesnt matter what book you get…just take as many practice tests as you can (timing yourself obviously), and correct them, do it again
