So here is the thing. I've taken ACT for 5 times, and my average score is kind of low for the Ivies. I was thinking about putting all the scores down on my common app, but only sending the highest to them. Do you guys think it's a good idea?

I know some of you may think taking that many times can only hurt me. But I am those like "competitive kids at school, but suck at taking standardized tests" person. I'm thinking if I can put all the dates that I've taken on my common app, I can say like "Sorry, Ive tried my best. But my ACT score is only that high."

I welcome all comments. Thanks (sorry about all the grammatical mistakes, if any, coz Im typing this during my physics class in hurry.)

I would put down my highest ACT score on my common app and send it to schools that accept score choice. For colleges that do not allow score choice (i.e.Yale, Stanford), I would make an alternate version of the common app and list all ACT scores.

All scores are reported on your official score report to a university. For the application, you can probably put the best score for each section, however the colleges will all have their own way of assessing all the scores.

There is no general answer, you need to go to the website of each colleges you are applying to and read their policies about self-reporting and sending official score reports.
