I’m an upcoming HS senior and I’ve basically narrowed down my initially extensive search to a few favorites, my top two being PC and Salve. I definitely want to be on the East Coast, and I fell in love with RI. I’m from NY originally.
I’m trying to decide between the two on which is my top, but I’m not really sure. I’ve visited both numerous times, and I’m still not sure. My GPA is around a 3.5/4 and I scored a 26 on my first ACT without studying (29 on writing portion- I’m going to take it again and study). I’m Catholic and want to attend a catholic school for the most part, so Salve and PC both fit the bill. I’ve heard that Salve is a little less academically rigorous than PC, is that true? I’m looking for either a Psychology/English double major or a Psych major English minor. I have alumni at both schools, but I don’t know how much of a difference that makes. The campuses are also fairly important to me as I’m not one to adjust to changes all too well, so I need to be somewhere where I feel a little more comfortable. Salve’s campus is of course superior as it’s absolutely beautiful, but I didn’t mind the PC campus either. If I could move every aspect of PC onto Salve’s campus, that’d basically be my perfect school. I also heard that PC is a huge party/drinking school, is that true? Is it hard to find friends if you don’t want to party every single night?
Does anyone have any advice to offer on either school on academics, culture, or campus life? I’d really appreciate it:)
