My son is in with 20K merit.
My son got in but no merit money.
Son got in with 20K Scholarship, which is included with acceptance notice. Stats: 1430 SAT, 4.22 W
Son accepted with 20k per year with 4.4 W GPA and a submitted 29 ACT. He is not too excited with the lack of merit aid compared to other schools where he has applied.
Daughter deferred. Very surprised as strong family legacy at PC. Even more surprised that they received over 7,000 EA applications and expecting 4,000 more RD apps. Sheesh!
My daughters numbers are the same and even a little higher and she got zero. WTH ?
Congrats to everyone that got accepted!! I got deferred. According to naviance, 50 students from my high school applied (an all-time high). Providence has been known in the past to defer almost everyone that applies EA from my school. I havenât heard of anyone from my school that got accepted today.
How do you know number of EA applicants? My son accepted but no merit. Will be tough to swing $70k!
My daughter got in, but no merit. Her gpa is similar to what others have posted but she applied test optional. Curious if anyone that applied test optional received merit money?
They included this info as part of their explanation in my daughterâs deferment letter.
Here is a really cool article about the class of 2025. Itâs crazy that there were 7,000 EA applications!!!
They also posted the number on the Providence College facebook page earlier today.
We got merit and applied with scores
My daughter applied test optional and received 20K in merit.
Her W GPA is 4.36. Plays several Varsity Sports and other ECâs
My daughter applied EA with test scores and received 20K in merit.
Those that got merit, where do you live ? My daughter applied with test scores and a very high GpA, 10 AP classes, the rest all honors, 2 sport 4 year varsity player and captain, etc and got ZERO. I donât get it.
My daughter was accepted. Yay! Merit letters have not been mailed yet. That information comes separately within a couple of weeks
Providence College is very clear that they calculate merit awards based on your course rigor and GPA- test scores are not considered for merit.
PC does not use test scores to calculate merit scholarships. They are very clear about this.
We live in PA
