Providence College Rankings

We are considering Providence College's business school for our son, but Providence does not appear on the 2010 edition of the "Fiske Guide to Colleges" or in Business Week's 2009 "Top Undergraduate Business Programs". Providence is not listed either in the U.S. News & World Report's latest college rankings. This does not make sense at all for a university whose last incoming class have an average GPA of 4.34 and an average SAT of 1933.

Does anyone have any useful, positive ranking information for Providence which would help us to continue considering this college ??? Please consider this as a serious question from a very concerned parent. Thank You.

Providence College is ranked 2nd in the US News Northern Masters Universities category, behind Villanova. PC has always had a solid reputation for its business programs, but as a college with a stronger liberal arts reputation, the School of Business has not gotten much individual visibility.

That is likely to change within the next twelve to eighteen months. PC is in the final stages of its candidacy for accreditation by the AACSB, which has recognized only about one third of all of the business programs in the country. PC’s prospects are quite encouraging.
