I was accepted into both providence and loyola and I am having a difficult time deciding on the two. I am from ny, and the distance from each does not matter. What is everyone's opinions of the two schools, which is better academically? which is better socially? thanks so much!

Hopefully I’ll bump this so someone more in “the know” will respond. We took college tours of each of the colleges. PC’s tour was for a D two years older than our son who just sent a deposit into Loyola. There are so many positives about Loyola, reputation, campus, student body and student’s appreciation for wellness. Once our son visited the campus he felt a true fit and was very excited about his decision to spend his college years at Loyola. Our daughter is a student at Goucher College, 10 minutes away, and she loves all that Baltimore has to offer. Have you made a decision on Loyola or PC?

Warrior, can you compare Goucher and Loyola Maryland for me? My daughter and I are touring both in October.

Seems that I read somewhere that Loyola was listed as having the “best dorm rooms” ???

I have also heard Loyola Md is on Princetn Rviews list of “Dorms like Palaces”

Loyola Md is a Jesuit School vs. Goucher which is does not have a religious affiliation. I had considered Loyola MD for my D but she objects to the religious component. There are required courses in theology. Just FYI. Also, she said she heard it is a “lax-bro” school, whatever that means lol…FWIW
