I called Providence admissions office and was told EA decisions were mailed out Wednesday, Dec. 19th.

Accepted! With a merit-based scholarship
ACT: 28
GPA: 4.11W/3.77UW

Congrats trackstar! Did you submit your ACT score when you applied and do you mind sharing the rest of your stats?

Accepted as well! However, I received NO merit money. I have general stats similar to trackstar6 (ACT superscore of 28, 4.39W GPA). I have straight A’s, but only 4 honors courses and 1 AP. I have FOUR legacies at PC (2 uncles, 1 cousin, and my great uncle was a professor there for ~50 years). I don’t get it.

termah420–

D four years ago had a similar experience. Legacy, but received very little aid. The endowment just isn’t large enough to support lots of merit aid. Offerered lots of merit aid by other liberal arts colleges.

DEFERED! TO Providence College!
I am in the top 25% of my highschool.
I am involved with many clubs/volunteering activities
GPA: 3.75

D accepted. 4.05 W GPA, 32 ACT, Merit aid. D loves school, but will need to see if with FA it works. Does anyone know the impact of a merit scholarship on financial aid?

deferred with a 3.2 uw, 3.4 w, 2060 SAT

thank god I got into my Ed school haha

DS was deferred, GPA 3.3 UW SAT 2150. He did not interview, that may have been a mistake.
Got into Stonehiil, Fairfield U, and St Mike’s with good merit aid at Stonehill and Faifield but he interviewed at all three.

It is getting too competitive right now, how come a 2150 SAT was deffered, and without an interview it may be a huge disadvantage for the majority of us.

I never did an interview, nor did I even take a tour… but I still got in with a $15,000 scholarship. I do not even know what Providence looks like but I plan on looking into it much harder now. I got into Fairfield with a good scholarship too. So I’m just waiting to hear from Bentley for a decision… that seems weird how they decided the admissions…

@trackstar6 thanks for the info, did you get in the Liberal Arts Honor though ? because they only offer >12k to those who got into that program.

I didn’t realize how much more competitive admissions had gotten at PC. I mean I got into Lehigh ED and 5/6 of my other schools.

I’m reading through the package and it does not say anything about an Honors Program. I applied for a major in Accounting so could that have something to do with it?

D is a 2012 graduate of PC and was admitted to the Honors College. I don’t believe she received notification of the Honors College invite until about a week after her initial acceptance. She applied RD though, so I am not sure how it works with the EA acceptances.
Trackstar6: D was also an accounting major, (although not initially) and there were plenty of kids in her major who were also in the Honors College, so I don’t think that would have anything to do with it.
FWIW, D loved PC, currently has a job in accounting and passed the CPA exam within 6 months of graduation! The accounting program has really blossomed there in the past few years! Good luck to everyone seeking admission!

Then I am pretty sure he/she got in. Congrats guys ! I am prepared for an ED rejection though, my stats is not as good.

We are counting our blessings for mu daughters EA acceptance. 3.45uw/3.6w with 1850 sat. Not an athlete

3 pepple i know are accepted with average sat scores but a rather high contribution, 2 ones are rejected with 2100 sat scores but contribution under 20k/year. i think contribution plays a very important part.

What do you mean by contribution?

I applied EA as well, hoping to hear good news! Bentley is my #1 choice, went in for an interview this summer & fell in love with their campus
