Providence vs. Loyola maryland

S. just got off WL and we are having a hard time choosing between these two schools. Great position to be in, but would appreciate any feedback. S. is interested in business major.

Gigi…see my post on the Loyola board, we are in the exact same predicament and S had to choose yesterday, went with Loyola.

If you read my posts you’ll get more insight as to why he made that choice.

We really, really thought he was going to go with PC. It was quite a turn of events.

Gigi, what did he decide?

He had committed to PC before getting the phone call from Loyola. He has not yet visited Loyola so we are trying to squeeze in a trip before Friday. Good luck to your son.

The schools seem to be so similar. I don’t think either choice would be a mistake.

I see.

True, he can’t go wrong at either school, and since you already sent in the deposit, you might as well take a second look at Loyola…we didn’t have that luxury.

Of course, we could have sent in the $700 to PC and lost it, but S assured us that we would only have been throwing the money away. He wants Loyola.

Although, had we never gotten that call from Loyola on Friday, S would have happily deposited at PC and never looked back. Funny how things work out.

I feel ill just thinking about S calling PC to let them know that he’s not going. They’re probably going to think he wasn’t sincere when he said it was his first choice, but he was, he was dying to go there. I think it was just being forced to decide so quickly that made him choose Loyola…he couldn’t do it. Loyola gave him some breathing room at least.

Still thinking Gigi…maybe you don’t want to take a second trip to Loyola? Maybe since you already deposited at PC you shouldn’t muddy the waters?

I don’t envy you…this has been very tough. Great choices but very, very tough.

Deposit was sent before Loyola phone call came in. S is driving the process. Too big a decision to make without a serious look at both schools. He has not visited Loyola since last year.
