I'm a junior who sent my SAT scores to clemson in January. I got a letter from them today saying that they reviewed my scores and the information from the questionnaire and they would like to offer me provisional acceptance. It said that the acceptance would be guaranteed if I submitted an application by Dec. 1st.

Has anyone else received a letter like this? Did anyone not get in after getting one of these?

I got this letter also. I don't think they will automatically accept you, but based on your history, if you continue down the same road you would be accepted. So you just have to keep up your grades and I guess technically you don't have to do better on the SAT. It is very exciting for me to confirm that Clemson is interested in me and that I match up stats wise.

Yes, they offer this to top South Carolina students that meet certain criteria.
By sending your test scores and showing interest in the school they send out the letters. It is a nice letter to get as a Junior!

I've already visted Clemson on two "official" visits, but have been on the campus alot. We used to have season tickets to the games. I'm planning on going to a few this year.

Forgive my ignorance, this is my first post, but how do you go about getting a tuition waiver? Are there qualifications besides being an out-of-state student? Do you apply for this somehow? My daughter (junior) is very interested in Clemson and I was unaware of this option.

I don't believe that there is any extra application for the OOS wavier (there wasn't when I applied). It is scholarship that is given based upon the students academic merits.

My D submitted her application less than 1 month ago. About the OOS waiver. It is not something you apply for. They consider them recruiting scholarships. I think if you are in the top 10% of your class and a decent ACT/SAT score they will offer one. This is my D's fallback college. We live in Minnesota and she loved it when she visited. Good luck to all you future Clemson Tigers!

Mpratt15 - My D's major will be in some mathematical field. She is also applying to Duke, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Stanford (her dream school) and Baylor (already in there too).
We live in Minnesota and she wants to escape the cold for a while. Only Northern school she will consider is ND.
