Um, so yesterday in the mail I got a letter from clemson (I'm in-state btw) saying that they'd like to offer me a provisional acceptance and that if I applied by december 1st I'd get my official admission offer by february 15th. Just curious, is this another spam letter or is this actually for-real? If it's real I'd be really happy because clemson is where I really wanna go. They said based on my GPA and sat scores that they found from collegeboard's stat search or somethin, they were gonna offer me the acceptance but neither of those were really all that good. i have a 3.89 in-state gpa (not that bad i guess...) but i only got an 1890 on my sat which makes me very curious...please respond! Pierre, I know you're out there!

Yes there is such a thing as provisional acceptance and this sounds like the real deal. If you aren’t sure you can always call admissions tomorrow and find out! Their number is 864-656-2287

If it’s real, then congrats!

PS: I googled it a little bit and while Clemson had no official information about their provisional acceptance, what seems to happen is that if you send your SAT score to Clemson junior year and it is satisfactory, they will offer you a spot as long as you keep your grades about the same as they are right now when you apply (as long as you don’t slack off a lot)
