Provisional acceptance

I emailed the school about this but haven't recieved a responses. Does anyone know what the requirements are for provisional acceptance, if I'm still eligable at this point and what I could do to increase my chances of it? I know I want to go to Clemson and getting this provisional acceptance would save so much time and effort. Thanks

You know you still have to apply even if you receive the provisional acceptance? From what I’ve heard you can take the SAT/ACT junior year or before and have those scores sent to Clemson and if you’re above what they’re looking for (think it’s 1350 for SAT critical reading/math and 31 for the ACT) they may send you a provisional acceptance. It’s been a while since I took the SAT/ACT but I think you can self-report your grades or class rank somewhere?

Yes I know I will still have to apply but it allows me to save time and money on applying to other schools since I wouldn’t know if I’d be accepted. Plus it’d be great to be able to say I know exactly where I’m going as a junior

Keep your GPA up and take the ACT again - there was a post earlier from someone who had received a provisional acceptance and got into the Bridge program not directly into Clemson

I received provisional acceptance to Clemson a week or two ago. My SAT is a 1970 (1370 M+CR) and I just self reported it in. The letter I received said it was based off of my SAT score and other materials that I gave about myself (I am assuming it was all the information that I had to input on college board). I hope that helps…

and to @‌srodier
that is a HUGE bummer that they were provisionally accepted but only got into the bridge program. The bridge students don’t usually have a high enough SAT/ACT score to even get accepted, much less recruited. The person that this happened to must have lied about some of their information.

all the provisional acceptance means is that you have a better shot at getting into Clemson than other applicants. If you have a 2200 on the SAT but then they find out your GPA is a 1.6 obviously they are going to have doubts about whether you can put in the work to succeed at Clemson.
