A few days ago I got this big golden envelope from LSU and it had a letter in there talking about the school and giving me info on it, and it also came with a transfer guide packet. I checked my paws account today and it said a "provisional decision" had been made...does anyone know what this means?

You might want to call the admissions office to ask. I’ve never heard of it before.

I did and they told me that they need more information. I’m not sure what else they could need since I have had every school mail them a transcript. And then I noticed when I logged into PAWS today I could apply for student aid, housing, loans and set up tours and classes. I wasn’t able to do all this a few days ago I find some of this really confusing with the way they do things. has anyone else had this happen to them?

My PAWS account says the same thing, but I’ve already received an acceptance email. I’m going to assume that they’re just implying that the decision ultimately depends on my grades from the rest of this year.

Okay so I hope that’s good news for me then. I’ve noticed over the past few days that everything on my PAWS account has changed. I have things like planning services, and register for classes and ect. Did this happen to your account? I feel like this is a step in the right direction. lol

Indeed, it has a lot of other options in the sidebar now, including applying for housing and sending transcripts and such.

Mine has all that now too. I hope I get this letter from them soon. Thanks for your help :)

You’re welcome! I think it’s funny how my PAWS account says that they’ll only inform me of a decision via mail, but I got a “Congratulations on your acceptance to LSU!” email, haha.

Omg that’s awesome! Congrats! I hope I get an e-mail or a letter like that soon! They were just really excited to tell you.

Thanks! Haha, I’m sure you’ll be hearing soon too :D

Just got my letter and I am so happy right now. :)

Congrats! Now you can relax a little. :D

we got provisional letter too. It is because I am taking college coursed in UNO in the afternoon. They sent a letter saying they require a 2.5 or higher on all college courses. As long as I do that no problem.

All colleges say “provisional” for legal reasons. They are accepting you before you qualify for registration. For example, if your high school GPA drops below a certain point senior year or you don’t get the proper immunizations, you aren’t allowed to register.
