Provost Scholarship

Alright guys, last chance for OOS attendance to be relatively affordable (depending on your income as well as financial scholarships)...

They give out 30-40 each year.

My question is: Does it replace the OOS tuition with in-state tuition for OOS prospective students who have already been admitted?

Let us use this as a thread for results as well, so future classes can look at this too.

Thanks!

Each recipient is offered:
■A scholarship for up to eight semesters of full time enrollment in an amount equal to the non-resident portion of tuition charges.
■In 2011-2012, the value of this award was $ 9105 per semester.

Recipients must achieve and maintain at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average.

^
Got this from the website. So yes it does.

Thanks.

January 15th guys! Literally will be GTech last chance to be considered for matriculation for me, as it will be cheaper for me to go to MIT than GTech as an OOS applicant :o

Did anyone hear any news on Provost Scholarships today? It looks like they may have updated the FAQ about this scholarship on the GT website to say notifications for EA students will come out in January as opposed to saying January 15th.

^I just realized that about 2 mins ago

Has anybody received this yet?

My daughter is hopeful, but hasn’t heard anything yet…Did anyone call and ask if they have a better idea of when they will be notified, other than “end of January”?

Spoke with admission officer today who stated that decisions are mailed (snail) at the end of the month.

So, does anyone know if you had to be in the top 500 pool selected for consideration for the presidents scholarship in order to be considered for the provost?

^You can get Provost w/o being in the pool for Presidential

These two things are independent. Just because one does not become Semi-Finalist for Presidential does not mean you will not get Provost

Snail mail at the end of the month ? Goodluck to me, it takes mail almost a month to reach me from this tiny island … which means even if I’m so lucky to get it I’ll only know pretty much in March LOL

"How will I be notified if I am a Provost Scholar?

Provost Scholars will receive an offer letter from the Provost as well as an email and phone call from the Office of Undegraduate Admission."

If they are only sending snail mail, they forgot to change this when they changed January 15 to just January…on January 15th.

Has anyone received notification of the provost scholarship yet?

I just found a letter in the mail for GT.

I am a Provost Scholarship recipient.

Congratulations! How exciting. What date was your letter postmarked?

January 25th

I’m in shock right now, considering how rare this is. Scholarship is worth 80k.

Georgia Tech just entered the argument once again with this scholarship offer.

GTech, MIT, and USC (waiting on Dean’s scholarship due to rumors) to choose from now…

Congrats! Did you also get a phone call, email, or is it posted in your Buzzport account, or did you just get a snail mail letter?

Just snail mail so far :o

^ Congrats! Great options! Have fun deciding which one to take!

Thank you! it’s going to come down to the wire on May 1st I can tell you that!
