Prt

Just wondering, but is the PRT that is administered during Plebe summer factored into your GPA/class rank?

During the school year your academic, physical, and military performance is. Don't know about Plebe Summer. Good question.

The Plebe Summer PRTs are factored only into the platoon order of merit (there is no equation, but mentally through the cadre). It is not factored into any class standing Order of Merit. In no way does it affect you during the academic year, other than the influence on the cadre.

During the academic year, usually it is a third (1/3) of your physical education grade, the other (2/3) is the PE class. For example, during the 1st semester of plebe year, boxing is 1/3 and wrestling is also 1/3....to make the 2/3. In the second semester, swimming is soley 2/3 of the grade. The physical education grade factors only in the Military Order of Merit (MOM).

The class standing or order of merit (OOM) is composed of like 60 something percent of the Academic Order of Merits (AOM) and the military is the difference. Academic OOM is soley based on your CQPR.

Also, military order of merit, factors: performance grade, military class grade (Leadership, Naval Science, Ethics..etc), PE grade, sports grade, and conduct -- there might be more.

They have this complicated equation.

This is right on. Note that during that academic year, though, the PRT is kind of a double whammy--not only will it be computed into your PE Class grade (which is an independent component of your over class standing), but it also WILL be a big piece of your Performance Grade for the semester (which also figures into your class standing). The performance grade is the "objective" grade that the upperclassmen in your company will assign to you in light of a number of factors--though all that is really considered is rate knowledge, uniform standards and ability to PT--which is strongly correlated to your PRT score.
