I think you might be correct with your “profound” theory.
That was how I understood the question, too.

Ahh, great method wexs. Luckily I put 1 also (different method)

Well, I don’t remember what the question was asking. But, that list of effects of TV watching that appeared first was definately considered less profound by the author than those he or she later mentioned.

What were the other choices on the profound/subtle question?

Does anyone remember the wording of the question?

@silver - I think earlier in the thread u said the answer was profound?

Silverturtle, what did u get on your PSAT in 10th grade

This was my first time taking it. I did, however, take the SAT two years ago; I got a 2270 then.

2270… As a freshman? Wow. That’s about 100-200 better than my scores on practice tests last year.

Did you study for it then?

That’s so incredible silverturtle…what do you want to major in/what schools do you have in mind?

I got a 170 Sophomore PSAT, but I’m aiming for a 190 and consequentially a 1900 on the SAT. I think I can get up to 2000 with an 800 math.

I didn’t study for it then, but I did study for today’s test.

“what do you want to major in/what schools do you have in mind?”

I’m utterly undecided.

How did you get that 2270?! I’m a sophomore and got a 2150.

And I thought my 197 last year was impressive… Lol.

Well, I’m pretty good about making few errors in math, so I was able to a 790. Critical Reading was somewhat difficult, but I managed to pull of a 740. I didn’t do as well on the essay as I had wanted (8), but I got all the multiple choice questions, and so I got a 740.

so any consensus on the subtle vs. profound question?

Wow, we should call you Sheldon.

I’ll feel dumb if no one here watches The Big Bang Theory.

You should open an online tutoring site.

Just a question about the A B X problem… I’m already in agreement with you guys that it is 1 other point, I guess I just want to see if I’m the only one who made this mistake…

(Let me paraphrase the Q): Points A B and X do not lie on the same line. Point A is three units away from B and 5 units away from point X. How many points other than point A exist in THIS PLANE that are 3 units away from B and 5 from X?

So the main thing that caught me is the talk of “in this plane”. When they said this, I thought it meant within the plane that was described by A B and X, (i.e., is there another point within this triangle that satisfies this). I said none, because the only other point is, so to speak, “off to the side” from the triangle formed from A B and X. When they said “in this plane” did they mean within this (Cartesian) coordinate system?

Godd… I feel so dumb, Geometry is my favorite math and this circumstance made me its *****…

How about the affable/candor/munificent question…can’t remember what it asked, but if anybody recognizes those answers and can tell me the right answer, I’d be really thankful.
