resentment…

For the 5 and 3 question, I think I have a better explanation. Draw two circles of radius 5 and 3 around X and Y as centers respectively, there are two points. Also, think of a kite to visualize it.

FOR THE ANXIOUS QUESTION:
It said in one line that he was “worried” - therefore he was anxious. I think the answer was that he wasn’t “articulate”

Thanks! Also, I always hear people saying college’s send them a lot of brochures after the PSAT. I heard people say you had to check something off to get them. I didn’t see anything on there to check off. If you put your home address, does that mean you get all the mail? When do these brochures come and if you score bad, do lower ranked schools send you the brochures instead of the higher ranked schools? Thanks again!

If you checked yes for student search service then you’ll get a crap load of mail.

anxious referred to his employer, didn’t it??

Crap. I think disdain wasn’t the answer. Disdain is to look down on, while it seemed that the other workers resented him for trying to take their jobs…

I don’t rem seeing that lol!

This was to raid. Where did it say that?

I think it was disdain.

Here is the def. for disdain: a feeling of contempt for someone or something regarded as unworthy or inferior

VS

The def for resentment: : a feeling of indignant displeasure or persistent ill will at something regarded as a wrong, insult, or injury

The former sounds more plausible since the boys hated HARI, a person.

But the thing is is that the coworkers didn’t think he was inferior, they were angry because they thought that he would take their work which would injure them.

im voting for resentment… b/c thats what i put on the test

but im starting to get second thoughts. :/

it was asking about Juga, Hari’s employer

It was on the info page near where you put in your email. It was towards the bottom.

Crap. I think disdain wasn’t the answer. Disdain is to look down on, while it seemed that the other workers resented him for trying to take their jobs…

Disdain doesn’t mean to look down on; it means ITS A FEELING OF CONTEMPT for someone who is looked down on…

wELL, whoever it was…that’s not the point…the point is that according to the definitions, disdain is more plausible.

anxious question:

i DON’T think it was anxious cause the passage explicitly said like “the old man was worried…” etc etc… idk. I think I put articulate

Well I guess I won’t be getting any mail. But I already have an idea of where I want to go, but I always wanted to gets brochures from lots of schools.

Wow I read the question wrong I thought it was talking about hari…

It’s resentment. You resent someone when they compete with you for your job. Both answers work, but resentment is a better answer and it is better backed by evidence in the passage.

I wouldnt worry about the search service. It really doesn’t matter at all.

oh crap i put resentment…
now i’m beginning to think it was disdain too.
i remember playing pokemon sapphire and it was like my pokemon ate the pokeblocks with disdain… so i didn’t think it would really fit this situation… whatever

omg i thought the math was so hard
and that one before the grid ins, about xy>x+y
the wording screwed me over… i first didn’t read it carefully and didn’t see the “integer greater than 1” part so i just put zero and the other thing. then i realized at the last minute, but forgot that the question was asking for which answer DISproved the statement. T_T
