PSAT 2009 (Form W) Curves + Discussion

^A lot of people must have tripped up on the exam if the curve is that generous.

[Math curve: raw score 33/38 = 71]

ObliviOn, please help me to understand. My S also took form W & scored a 33/38 in math. BUT, his score is 68. Of his 5 incorrect answers, one did not lose him points because it wasn’t a multiple choice question. Of the 4, 2 were considered hard & 2 were considered medium. Will you share if you lost points for all 5?

“you cant get a 76 in math cause if you get 2 wrong its a 75 and 1 wrong is 78”

actually 1 wrong is a 79.

Actually only01, your son scored a 32/38 (raw) because if he got 4 answers wrong that do lose him points, then that would be an extra -1 and leave your son with the raw score of 32 rather than 33.

has anyone from texas gotten their scores?

Can anyone confirm that -2 on Writing is a 73? (I hope that it’s higher.)

What was the answer to the writing question that included recycling?

“were to separate…”

wow i just looked at my college quickstart of last years form w psat. my stupidity is ridiculous. 191 overall. 2nd m q - which line segment has greatest positive slope? - i picked segment with negative slope lol. 64cr, 62m, 65w, how pathetic. pray for 200 this year.

Was form W for the oct. 13 psat or did the date not matter?

I’m really suprised about the writing curve…for everyone I talked to they though the writing section was much harder compared to last year.

I think it was October 14, but I may be wrong.

My daughter is still waiting for her results. She took the exam at a local private school, Form W. I was expecting the results to be mailed to our home because we homeschool. Has any other Michigan Homeschoolers received their results yet???

well mailing takes longer than the school receiving it so it’s normal that you haven’t received it yet. Maybe you should go and ask the school.

The results for homeschoolers are supposed to be mailed directly to the home - not to the school where the test was taken. So why would it take longer for mailing them to the home? Do the schools receive electronic results?

Yesterday our HS principal told me he has received a roster of students and scores, but the actual score sheets typically arrive at the school in the middle of December, right before break. The GCs don’t pass them out to students until January. (We’re in Ohio.)

HEY YA CAN ONE OF U TAT GOT SCORE BACK HELP ME?

how many no errors on writing?

There were four no errors on the wednesday test.

ARGH I did really well in everything except Identifying Sentence Errors. That’s where I lost all my points :(

could you…by any chance…post what the questions were for the no errors? I got 4 no errors. And I vaguely remember the questions. Were there two no errors in a row? Or 2 no errors separated by a D? I don’t even remember anymore…
