@younggann If you’re talking about that math question that IceQube posted, there was no I, II, & III. It was I only, II only, III only, I and II, and either I and III or II and III. It was I and II.

yeah, it was definitely x/y > 0.

i put I, II, and III.

yeah I remember that question. All three of them were true. Here is my attempt at recreating the parts of the question.

x<y<0 which of the following must be true?

x+2 < y+2 something like that

absolute value of x > y

I think it was x^3 < y

wait…i don’t understand how i would calculate my score…if i get 1 question wrong in any section i subtract 1.25 from what?

Uh, my test definitely did not have an I, II, and III for an answer.

Did you have form W? I didn’t realize there were actually significantly different forms. Maybe that is why we’re having some confusion.

there wasn’t an option for I, II, III
the choices were
A. I
B. II
C. III
D. I and II
E. I and III

i believe it was E

there wasn’t anything about absolute value either
i think it was like
2x < 3y something like that…

mine definitely did have an answer choice for I II III, did someone not have this?

There seems to be different versions or something, as I just asked one of my friends on facebook and he said that his was I and II as well, no option for I, II, and III, and III was (x/y) < 0.

Maybe its a regional thing, perhaps we all got form W but different regions = slightly different answers and questions.

So far you are at:

76 CR
73 M
80 W

229

I think mine had I, II, and III as well.

It’s so difficult trying to remember little details like this…

@livelikeali you count the number you get right. then take the number you got wrong, divide it by 4. then subtract that number from the number you got right. if it’s --.5+ then it rounds up. if its --.25 then it rounds down.

@Override: Everyone had the same form W is for Wednesday…and I believe we all just took it today. That’s why everyone had to start by a certain time. They measured it so that by the time the west coast was done, the east coast would’ve just started, so no cheating could occur.

I will throw in my hat on the Mo “shrewd” vs. “limiting”.

I tossed out the others and then got down to these two. I then followed this logic:

Mo is not necessarily LIMITING or attempting to limit Duncan at all on the basis of that sentence. He is just being a big fat meany and wants Duncan to give more homework.

My brain then countered: “But Mo wants the students to do bad so they come to his practice sessions, thus he is attempting to limit Duncan’s ability.” I then refuted this because I think Mo genuinely believes more homework = more successful students.

I then justified “shrewd” judge on the basis of him constantly jumping to conclusions about students bad work ethic, popularity contests, etc. Also, I took shrewd in a negative sense, which would definitely match with Mo, he’s a negative guy.

Although now I’m going back on my shrewd answer a bit because I guess there’s more evidence of his limiting than his judging…but…however…thus…therefore…maybe…I think…

THE SAT WHEEL OF TORTURE

There seems to be different versions or something, as I just asked one of my friends on facebook and he said that his was I and II as well, no option for I, II, and III, and III was (x/y) < 0.

Maybe its a regional thing, perhaps we all got form W but different regions = slightly different answers and questions.

Seems more likely that we just have bad memories ;D Or selective ones.

What is -0M -0W -11CR? Do I still make NMSF?

isnt last years grading scale harsher than this years?

@BigBanks
He does not genuinely believe that more homework = more successful students. He only did it because students stopped coming to his boring and pointless review class, right?

@sheep
That puts you at a 60 CR, according to last year’s curve. That’s 220 total so it depends on your state’s cutoff scores.

@Live
We have no idea yet.

In reference to the “thieves” writing question, was the end of the sentence where it said, “the market had shrunk” grammatically correct? I really pondered over this question, but ultimately said that “had shrunk” was the choice. It just sounds so awkward to me. I guess the CC consensus is that the sentence had no error, the sentence just sounds so horrible with the combination of the strange that at the beginning and the “had shrunk” at the end.

@SheepGetKilled If you follow last year’s curve, you would get a 220, assuming you didn’t skip any. And NY’s score was a 219 last year, so assuming it’ll be relatively the same, you should, essentially, barely scrape by the curve.

especially for CR?? 10 char

I just asked a third friend who said they chose I and II, but not III.
