Psat 2012 Wednesday Discussion

I’m not sure if I remember this right, but I think there was a question that asked for sum of the smallest prime number and largest prime number under 100

For the writing, what did you guys think of the excessive hunting question? I chose the last one because of parallelism.

Consensus is moistened. what was the 1/3 question?

Oh and what was the 1/3 problem?

Sum of smallest prime > 10 and greatest <100

I said…

11+97 = 108.

Who is 100% sure about the hydrogen cell author tone question? who remembers the answer choices??

97+11=108 10 chqrs

I also chose parallelism
97+11 so 108.

It was a parallelism question but it didnt have to be huntING and destroyING, it would be huntING and destruction.

i though It the B or C (dont remember which) it said The hunting its a gerund which would make is a noun? which matches destruction

After reading this I think I got 2 wrong on both math and writing, and anywhere from 2-5 on reading. Honestly no clue on reading.

Was it diffidence… aloof or reticence…pensive

I put reticence pensive because he didn’t talk much, people thought he was shy, but he actually was deep in thought. But the consensus seems to be diffidence and aloof. Which I don’t fully understand why.

For the hunting I remember the choice & it was something with “-Ed” at the end… Not sure. 1/3 question was when you take out 1 red marble what is the chance of getting a green marble. Something like that.

& for the dog question, I think I got 6?

anyone recall the questions from section 4, the little article about brain science??
what did you guys put for the New year resolution Question?

and was he a classicist or original

^ new year question, I think I put something about improvement?

There was one math question involving the mean and difference of two numbers equaling 1…does anyone remember their answer

classicist

diffidence and aloof, another one was altruistic, dog was 12, mean and difference product was .75

1.5 and .5

The question had the definition in there, and aloof means uninvolved and distant.

Don’t worry, i put pensive too LOL
