Son got Stanford letter and email, not sure about TASP as spam filter was set to clear every day and we did not check it until yesterday.

Took PSAT in 2014 and was in the 99th %tile of sophomore takers

Total: 1470
R/W: 710
M: 760

R: 36
W: 35
M: 38

99 percentile
? I delete all college emails, and I’m not sure what that is

@LaikaDoodles Do you know your percentiles for 3 section scores?
It is viewable only On-line by clicking “Show Details” button next to “Test Scores” just above 3 R,W,M scores

R: 36, “national sample percentile” “user percentiles”
W: 35 “national sample percentile” “user percentiles”
M: 38 “national sample percentile” “user percentiles”

Also, how many W questions did you get wrong? 3?

I don’t see separate percentiles for reading and writing, but I’m at the 99th for both national and user in all 3 categories (total, R/W, M) and yes I missed 3 writing. Why?

@LaikaDoodles Do you not see “Show Details” Button above 3 36/35/38 scores?
Are you a Junior?
Just completing my Table of scores vs number of incorrect answers vs USER percentiles
Thanks!

Oh yes, I do now. Still says 99. Yup
I’m a junior. Why is my index score (218) smaller than the concordance table score (223 I believe)

Thank you very much!
Concordance table is 2014 score estimate out of 240, this year is out of 228, so this year’s score is lower. You score corresponds to 223 (if the concordance table is correct) for 2014.
Excellent scores! Congratulations!

No Stanford or Telluride emails, but that’s not surprising if it’s true that they’re based on last year’s scores (I got 207 last year).

@payn4ward Helpful table. Basically, it was more important to miss as few questions as possible on Writing section because missing 1 question meant 1 SI point lower in Writing section, whereas for Reading, missing 2 meant one SI point lower, and for Math, missing close to 3 meant one SI point lower.

Missing 4 questions in Writing and missing ZERO question in Reading and ZERO in Math would have got you 220 SI score! But if you missed ZERO on Writing, you could miss total 10 questions in Reading and Math and still end up with 221+ SI scores. Since Writing was VERY EASY (according to those who did well in PSAT), doing well in Writing had a BIG impact in total SI score.

I just love the way none of these charts can be filled out because none of the posters scored below the 97th percentile, or at least they aren’t willing to tell it!

Apparently, posting picture is not allowed on CC so here is my poorly formatted text table.

%iles are preliminary until we confirm all are “USER percentiles” for JUNIORS only

Just curious, what makes you guys think there is a direct correlation between 2014 and 2015 PSATs? That table is PRELIMINARY… it’s based on a tested sample. You have no idea how the real numbers will play out… Those who signed themselves up for the Saturday testing date (and therefore part of that testing sample) are probably motivated, intelligent kids wanting extra test prep. Not your typical American HS student.
