So I'm taking the PSAT in a little over a month. When I took it in sophomore year I did pretty badly, low 150s. But I recently took another practice test and scored a 189. I want to make the state cutoff (I live in NY, I believe the cutoff is a 215). SOOO I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on studying for it? (I'm not intending on buying a PSAT review book as I already have a Kaplan SAT book) Thaaank youuu!!

Just practice practice practice! If you haven’t already I would get the collegeboard blue book. (It really is the most helpful SAT prep book.)

(Without doing any sort of studying of vocab, grammar, or math, and just by practicing, I was able to boost my PSAT score of 1600 in sophomore year to 225 by junior year)

What is the state cut of for?

Here are my pieces of advice—
- Do some practice problems
- Do some practice tests
- Get a good night sleep the night before
- Eat a healthy breakfast the morning of the test.
- Take a shower in the morning to help wake you up.
- Read something in the morning so the first thing you are reading is not the test
- Take your time on the test.
