PSAT and NMSQT

what is the difference between the PSAT and the NMSQT

The PSAT (given once a year every October) IS the NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) for 11th Graders. High scoring juniors can earn a scholarship to reduce college costs.

Helpful thread will explain it all:

OP, I’ve noticed you’re posting a lot of new threads in this section of the forum, and I have a few concerns. I don’t want to discourage anyone from being inquisitive and trying to learn about the college admissions process, but please, refrain from making a new thread to ask every single question you have separately. All of the questions I’ve seen you post have been easily found already answered somewhere, either in these fora or on other websites, such as [College Admissions - SAT - University & College Search Tool](http://www.collegeboard.org).

Please, when you have a question, try to find an answer using a search engine such as Google, or use the search feature of the CC fora, and if you cannot find a definitive answer, then feel free to ask it here. If you are a member of another forum, or if you become one in the future, you will find that this is standard protocol for asking questions, as this prevents a forum from being flooded with the same questions repeatedly. Good luck with your information hunting, and I wish you the best of luck in admissions; when that time comes, I’m sure you will be prepared.
