I'm currently a sophomore and will be taking the PSAT next year.

I haven't taken it before, but I would like to score well and start prepping for the SAT.

So, does anyone recommend books to prepare for the PSAT?

Or should I just use standard SAT prep books? If so, which ones? (I also just looked at the Xiggi method to see if that might help.)

Standard SAT books should be enough. Junior year one is the one that counts, so don’t be too stressed out about the Sophomore one. Just do your best, and prepare if you want to.

Oh, I should be clear I’m studying for the Junior one.

I didn’t take one as a Sophomore, so Junior will be the first time I take it.

Oh. In that case, do SAT practice then, since the preparation is essentially the same. PSAT is supposed to be “easier,” but difficulty is subjective and from what I’ve read, most people have the most success simply by just doing straight SAT work. They also publish a practice exam for the PSAT, and I believe there’s a website that has 5-6 PSAT’s online with answer keys, so you can practice from there.

Best of luck.

Okay, thanks. Plus, if I prep for the SAT now I won’t have to do too much more come Junior year.

Do you by any chance know the name of that site?

Just looked at it, and it needs a password to view now, so I guess that’s gone =[ Your school can give you the PSAT info packet though, which has a practice exam.

Oh, okay, sorry then.

Well thanks for the help. I’ll try to get a copy of the practice test from my guidance office.
