Hi I’m supposed to be taking the PSAT this upcoming October like a million other high school students. My school was doing a registration for a 3 day PSAT camp(100$), registration has now passed and I didn’t think anything of it. Now, I am a diligent student and jump on any chance that could possibly end with me and scholarship money. I didn’t sign up for this because I thought that I had no chance of passing the PSAT whether I went to some boot camp or not and I didn’t have 100$ readily available. I mean I’ve only just finished Geometry and the math questions on there look insane to me. My POV has changed and now I’m going to do my very best to get at least some form of money out of this test. It’s too late for me to take the boot camp and I’m beating myself up about it. I guess I’ll resort to other forms of resources and good ol’ practice. Did any of you guys make national merit w/o attending a boot camp that don’t have an IQ of like 200?
I’m pretty sure many who qualified or won National Merit did it without boot camp.
Stop worrying about some boot camp deadline you missed and just start preparing on your own. Start with Khan Academy, College Board for official resources and materials to work with. And look on this site. There are countless others with valuable insight and information here.
My D did a PSAT boot camp at her school along with Khan Academy. She feels she got more out of a regular regiment of Khan Academy lessons than the boot camp. You can only learn so much in a three day cram session, spend your money on the CB Official Study Guide and your time with Khan Academy.
