PSAT Commended Scholar

I am a junior and got a 206 (97th percentile) on the PSAT. my friends told me that I should be commended and that the letter of confirmation should be arriving in April. Now, it's like mid-April and I am worried because I still have not received the letter yet. Do you guys know exactly when the letter should arrive?

begining of senior year

you;ll be commended

My school called me into the office when they found out that I'd made a 216 but never did anything when they found out that I was only Commended.

All you'll be getting now is a letter that says you've scored high enough to be Commended and that so many of those people scored high enough to be Semi-Finalists. If your school isn't as stupid as mine, you should get your stuff at the beginning of your senior year.

My counselor gave me my letter letting me know that I was commended on Wednesday. Semi-finalist notification will come in the fall, and finalists in the winter, I think.

I'm a canadian and am not a permanent resident or u.s citizen can i still take the psat?

you can take the psat...but i dont think you'll be able to participate in national merit...

I think that even commended scholars are 98-99 percentile... sorry (I may be wrong).

The Commended letters arrived at my principal's office earlier this week (I'm a Sr., but I work in the front office and parcel mail). You should find out a/b this by May methinks.

BTW, this is all on the Nat'lMeritScholCorp. website... Everything will happen according to plan. Don't worry until you're a little further behind schedule.

wait so the commended letters come in to the school or to ur house? this is assuming ur not home schooled and go to a private high shcool

so its April 25 now, and I still haven't received anything from the collegeboard (PSAT 206). I am really worried. Anyone, do I get notified through mail to my house or through my school?

I believe someone wrote here that this year's cutoff is 203 for commended, and this is 96% while 204 is 97%. therefore there is cause to assume that the amount commended or semi out of the entire test taking population is around 3.5-3.7%.
