PSAT Curve

Congrats to everyone for these good scores!

Whoa, PaniKirjava, those reading and math curves are pretty generous. Did you take the Wednesday test? My math was -1 = 75.

Congrats on getting the score you wanted =)

By the way, does anyone know/think if 221 is high enough for California? Thanks.

Yes freakchild12, i think 221 should cut it for CA, as last year the cutoff was either 217 or 219.

my school really sucks, and why doenst collegeboard put them on the internet yet…

im almost positive every school has recieved them

i still dont know what -4/-5/-6/-7 on CR for wed were…i think i got like -6 and i have only like 5 point threshold for NMSF

Gah, apparently our guidance dept is too occupied with college apps to hand out our psats. I know I’ll show a lot more understanding next year but still…

^ Same here…but at the same time I don’t want to get too frustrated because I know this time next year I would really appreciate the attention from my counselor…

Being a National Merit Semifinalist/Finalist is national recognition, right? So does that look good on college apps, or does nobody care?

^ It certainly won’t hurt your application. You can also look into any possible scholarship opportunities, either college or corporate sponsored.

National Merit Semifinalist/Finalist definitely look good on college apps.

Lol i dropped from sopohmore year
went from a 235 to a 225

wow must not have been focused or something.

arrrghhh… i missed the 220 i aimed for

75 CR (-3)
75 M (-1)

65 W (-5) … dropped from my 68 last year

215 SI, 99th %ile

cant believe the math curve took 5 pts off for 1 wrong question =(

214! 99th in oklahoma

77 CR (-2)
60 M (i think omit 3, 7 wrong)
77 W (-1)

oh, math.

apparently a lot of the cutoffs for NM is going to drop this year cuz the curve sucked -_-

DS# outperformed his Ivy League bro!
215:
74 CR
68 M
73 W
We’re hoping it’s high enough for NMSFin Missouri.

Junior who took the Saturday test

71 CR (98th percentile: 2 omitted, 3 wrong)
80 M (99th percentile)
76 W (99th percentile: 1 wrong)

227 total (99th percentile)

Do I have a fair chance of becoming a semifinalist in New York?

FYI, last year the highest cutoff was 223 (MA and boarding, I believe).

wow…im depressed…i got a 177…was wishing for a score in the 190s…wasn’t expecting national merit scholarship thoiugh

bob123123 and others:

I have been helped by the many who have posted, so I hope this will help you in return.
My son got his goal of 215:

Wed. test:

215: 99%

CR: 68 -6
M: 74 -1 1 omit
W: 73 -2

For those who are not yet Juniors: he raised his score from, 158 Freshman yr to 197 soph. to 215 when it counted: We hope it’s enough for NMS in Ks.

DoleWhip,
Congratulations-you are definitely NMSF in NY.

The Wed curve list is by POINTS as I know for a fact that 8 wrong no omits on Writing was a 60. I can add the info that 2 omits, 6 wrong (so -8) on CR was 66. And I can also confirm that 3 wrong on writing (so -4) is a 70.
