PSAT Curve

Sophomore (don’t know if this helps or not)
68 (98th), 71 (99th), 67 (98th) combined 204sadly (98th)
for Illinois.

jr
219 and 99th percentile

Sophomore in CA
CR: 78 (99th) 2 wrong
Math: 75 (99th) 1 wrong, not even in the section where they take off points. LAME.
Writing: 76 (99th) 1 wrong
Total: 229 (99th) 4 wrong total

I just got mine back around ten minutes ago. I’m in english typing this up, actually.
I got a 222 and my friend got a 224 (dammit). Anyone know the cutoff for virginia and also what GPA one needs to make finalist?
That’s the only issue I would have is GPA. Due to some serious laziness freshman year and in middle school my GPA’s so pathetic I barely want to post it…
Ugh… 3.1

I lvie in Claifornia and I jsut got mine. 219 baby!!! hopefully a qualifying score fro national merti!

finally!
77’s across the board. Total of 231.

Some clarification for those who have yet to receive their Wed. scores:
ON occasion is correct.
the author would respond with complete agreement
supercilious is right
worldly awareness yes, urban affluence no.
belied, not subdued
topographical vs. mineralogical
surprised - mars passage
rather than write. NOT instead of to write
before sentence 5, NOT after sentence 10

How are you receiving these scores? By mail, by e-mail or from the school GC? My junior son has received nothing here in Wisconsin.

MilwDad ~ the people who are reporting their scores received them from their schools (and a few homeschool students said they have received them via US Mail at home). Our school in SD distributed them on 12/3. Your school most likely has them and just hasn’t distributed them to the students.

Btw if anyone still wants the curve:

(on page 4)

Congrats everyone on the great scores! I find out my fate tomorrow sigh

Thanks for the link to the College Board .PDF file for counselors.

Alright…for W, 1 wrong is -4 points; for CR, 1 wrong is -1 point.

Ohio junior, 210 at 98% percentile

72 CR, 98% percentile (4 wrong, -1 point)
65 M, 90% percentile (5 wrong, 1 omitted, -1 point)
73 W, 98% percentile, (2 wrong, -0 points)

I know I’ll make commended, is it likely I can make NMSC? It’s a long-shot for sure, everyone else in Ohio has to do really bad…

I get a 208 in Alabama…cutoff last yr was 209…do you guys think its goin down 1?

Hey, I am really worried because my parents have these fricking high expectations of getting national merit semifinalist, and i’m not sure whether my score is good enough. Last year, the MO cutoff was 213, and the year before that it was 211. I got a 212 (99 percentile nation, but that doesnt mean much). Do I have a chance? Will it possibly drop one?

wkdsid: Anyone that is close to previous year cutoffs will just have to wait and see what cutoffs are disclosed next fall. Sorry. :frowning:

A state’s cutoff could definitely drop a point or two but it can also go up a point or two.

If the cutoff is 215, does that mean people with a score of 215 will qualify, or does it mean that people ABOVE 215 will?

Our HS guidance office is withholding scores until “sometime” in January. On Quickstart it seems as if the scores may now be available online but only if one has the access code from PSAT score sheet. Is there anyway to see these scores without information from one’s school?

monkeycloud - it means that those scoring at the cutoff level and above qualify.

Jfenimore - if you signed up for Quickstart last year (providing you took the PSAT last year), then I believe you will be able to see your score. Hopefully someone will let us know if this is correct.

Are the PSAT scores available online yet? Does anyone know when they are expected to be?

I signed up last year - quickstart will let me see my 2007 scores, but it says that the paper code is required to see 2008 scores. It looks like scores will become avalible online without the code on February 1…
