Smile164: thanks, Wednesday.

Reading, missed 2, Math, missed 1 gridin, Writing, missed 5.

We’re in NJ near ETS and haven’t received anything yet. I didn’t know this thread had already been started, and just a little bit ago posted a thread asking if scores might be out. What made me suspicious was that yesterday D got a mailbox full of college literature instead of the one or two pieces per week she had been receiving.

It’s important to her to have them if possible, since she needed PSAT scores for a program application, and it’s probably not too late to send in the new scores if they’re better than her sophomore year results.

Based on the scores that have been posted, what score might be 5 wrong and 2 omits in CR?

^67-70? Maybe?

As I just wrote on the other thread, I called D’s GC to see if the scores had come in yet. He said the school hadn’t received them, and even checked if they had arrived at our BOE office, but they hadn’t. So, I guess we just have to wait.

Nj

233 (+15)

78 (+3) cr
75 (+4) m
80 (+8) w

Speediness of scores might have to do with the number of kids taking the test - smaller physical bundles going faster in the post. As far as I can tell at least two other schools (small private in MA, large public in MD) didn’t get scores yet.

saturday test
CR - 71; 5 wrong; 0 omit
M - 80; 0 wrong; 0 omit
W - 69; 3 wrong; 0 omit

woow -3 in w is 69! ouch harsh curve

Here’s the average PSAT math curve, using the last 6 tests (not including 2008):

(first col is raw, next col is score)

38 80
37 76
36 73
35 71
34 69
33 67
32 66
31 65
30 64

got my scores today. i took it saturday

66 for CR (8 wrong) (pretty good curve, i think?)
67 for Writing (4 wrong)

is the saturday curve going to be really different from the wednesday one?

For PSAT Sat test. Anybody can explain Math problem number 19?

D got her scores at school today. Needless to say she isnt very happy about them.

no omits
CR 72 (4 wrong)
M 69 (3 wrong)
WS 65 (5 wrong)

She took the Wed test. Score listed as 206. We are in Ill and last years cut off was 214. Bummer.

Oh boy. That’s a really harsh curve ^^

^ yea really harsh…can someone please confirm lol? I took the Wednesday as well…but haven’t gotten my scores back. Last year i got them like end of December.

it would be great if you guys added more to this thread using the format below–I’m sure if someone made a separate column with the Wed. Test it would be even more beneficial

conclusion:

Sat PSAT --2008
CR
-0 80
-2 78
-5 71
-8 66

Math
-0 80
-1 75
-13 60

Writing
-0 80
-1 76
-3 69
-4 67

yea, that writing curve is so unfair and harsh lol. it always is lol.

it gets worse every year b/c its the most coachable section, i guess.

my older bro got -10 ( 8 wrong) on the 2003 PSAT writing section and got a 68.
the good old days! wow things have changed.

I actually did not do as well as I wanted to.
Saturday - 2008 PSAT
Math- 72 (1 wrong, 1 omit). The question they say I omitted was a very easy math question and I have it answered in my test booklet.
CR - 68 ( 7 wrong) Again, i think I had another bubbling error. Two of the question I got wrong are answered correctly in my test booklet
Writing- 65 ( 5 wrong)
Although my Selection Index is only a 205, it says i received 97th percentile of all juniors. I received 98th percentile of juniors in math, 96th in CR, and 94th in Writing.

On my test, 2 wrong on Math was 72, not 78
