but happy thanksgiving everyone!

Man, now i’m really scared about my PSAT score seeing those curves.

but happy thanksgiving everyone!

Ok all these are from the Saturday test. But anyone have the regular, Wednesday test?

^I don’t think I’ve seen anyone with Wed scores yet.

Remember, she really missed 5 in CR, 4 in M, and 6 in W cause its -.25 for every one missed. The curve really isn’t that bad.

Sorry. Reply intended for spring162

Mine was wed (I remember missing school), which I already posted (page 4), but here it is again:

(KS) 219,77,77,65, reading 2 wrong, math 1 wrong (gridin), writing 5 wrong.

Oh wait…wow! That is NOT harsh curve at all, if what you are saying is accurate. For Wednesday? So:
Wednesday:
CR-
-0=80
-2=77

W-
-0=80
-5=65

Math-
-0=80
-1=77

it would be great if you guys added more to this thread using the format below–
conclusion:

Sat PSAT --2008
CR
-0 80
-2 78
-5 72
-8 68

Math
-0 80
-1 75
-2 72
-4 69
-13 60

Writing
-0 80
-1 76
-3 69
-4 67
-6 65

^is that the number of questions missed? or points missed.

the Saturday curve seems much, much harsher than the Wednesday curve…

I’m doing it by points missed

Agreed but doesn’t it mean that more kids did better on Sat than on Wed? It all comes out even in the end.

I took the test on Wed and got a 234

77 CR (-2)
80 Math
77 Writing (-1)

congratulations! those are amazing scores! =)

Here is the psat critical reading study guide curve
Raw Points Scaled Score
48 80
47 80
46 78
45 76
44 74
43 72
42 71
41 69
40 68
39 67
38 66
37 65
36 64
35 63
34 62
33 61
32 60
31 59
30 58

Im pretty sure we don’t need to know scores lower than 58 :).

With such a large sample the scores are scaled to be similar no matter when you took the test or how many you missed. Mere mortals miss at least one question. The rest don’t miss any. ;)

Yes but these two tests have exactly the same critical reading curve not similar which hardly happens

@ferniesoccer1

How did you find the curve for the CR?

I just compared the data that we have gathered to the curve of the 2008 study guide and it was exactly the same.
Sat PSAT --2008
CR
-0 80
-2 78
-5 71
-8 66

to the curve of the study guide which is located in the last page of the study guide;)
So maybe the curves are not 100% exactly the same but they are extremely similar if not exactly the same.

slight error because on last post
this is the data we have gathered
Sat PSAT --2008
CR
-0 80
-2 78
-5 72
-8 68
-5 is 72 not 71

Haha I can’t believe I’d run into generallyrong while reading up on the PSAT curves…

Kansas - Wednesday Test
CR(-1): 80
Math(-2, not grid-ins): 74
Writing(-3): 70

Overall I thought that the Wednesday curve was pretty forgiving.
