FL <= 211 (post 27)
SC <= 212 (just found out my daughter made it with 212)
TN <= 216 (other thread)
TX <= 218 (other thread)

I edited the thread title for the benefit of forum visitors who use the search function to find threads.

Wouldn’t it be 2009 finalist? I thought it was labeled according to year of graduation, not year when we receive notification.

My daughter qualified in Texas with 216.

Yes khoitrinh, this category should be labeled 2009 Grads to avoid confusion.

Summarizing:

AZ <= 215 (post 22)

OH <= 215 (other thread)
FL <= 211 (post 27)
IL <= 215 (post 39)

TX = 215.
i got my packet today. my score was 235.

So is everyone who got over 200 going to be nationally commended no matter what state they live in?

yes, they’ll be a commended scholar. whether or not they’re a semifinalist depends on the state cut-off score.

i got a 212 which is the cutoff for RI so im desperately hoping it doesnt go up

The cutoff for KS this year is below 220. Probably in the 212-215 range, although I’m not certain.

I failed like crap on the PSAT =[ my score should have been around 220, but I messed up and got a 210

I live in CA. This is not cool. We have higher cutoffs.

215 is the official in texas.
I Know someone that got 214 and didnt get it, and someone who got a 215 and did.
as for me, 216!!

Wow, the cutoff scores are low this year! MABYE I HAVE SOME HOPE FOR A 214!!!

We got our packets today. The principal told us that the state cutoff had gone up by two points, so I guess that makes it 213 for Missouri.

Argh.. I got a 223 and go to school in Massachusetts.. hopefully the cutoff doesnt go up

wow New York is pretty high

No… I live in NY but go to a boarding school in Massachusetts..

i second the hope of the MA cutoff not going up…
making it with a 224 would be awesome..

I have not heard of anyone getting the info or packets at our school.

Is it just some schools are already forwarding the information (and packets - what is a packet?) to the students where most schools will wait another week or two?

As far as my knowledge goes, those who receive information packets are not supposed to make any mention of them to anyone beyond their parents. At least, not until September 10th, which is when NMSC will announce semi-finalist winners.
