I got a 200 and I was wondering if this would be a high enough score to become a commended student and national hispanic scholar.

myabe, the commended cutoff last year was 201/200. But some CCers are predicting lower scores for everyone this year. So ,you know, you may have a good shot. As for hispanic scholar i don’t know. For national achievement the cutoff is like 200- i don’t know how much that help by reltaive comparison. best of like. Yoiu should atvleast get one.

National Hispanic has a lower cutoff than Commended does, so you should be fine for that.

Last year’s cut off for NHRP was 193 in Illinois. It varies by state, but I think Illinois was one of the higher ones. Last year commended was 205 in Illinois. Good luck!

My son got his results today and was very dissapointed that he didn’t crack 200. His score was 191. Anybody has an idea if this is good enough for NHRP in Tennessee?

I hear that scores are trending lower this year. Compared to last year? How much lower?

Thanks

People interested in NHRP, please see this thread on the Hispanic Students subforum:

I was wondering if anyone knew the cutoff for Wisconsin for National Hispanic Scholar. My daughter was a receipient in 2008 with a 195 but I am wondering if my son will be eligible.

Just a word to the wise my daughter took advantage of the offer at Ball State but it appears they no longer offer a full ride.

Where are the NH cutoffs by state for this past year? I don’t see it on that listed thread.

I know they change every year, but I wanted to see what they were for last year.

Here is a great site for checking PSAT cutoff scores for each state. It lists the past three years. For students who took the test in Fall 2009, the cutoff scores will be announced in the Fall of 2010.
