I know we've all discussed this a million times, BUT. . . .
Last year NY Semi cut off date was 218
This year the writing was re-centered or something of the sort. How much lower will the cutoff go (if it does)?
Any thoughts? Because I have no idea, but would like to know.

It's the same thing from the other threads. We can guess the national cut-off (commended) with a good amount of accuracy but its not reliable to do it for states, unless you go on CB and tell us what percentile your scores were in for NY. You go to CB, log-in, enter your PSAT information, and let us know what percentiles your scores were in not for the USA but for NY, and then we can give you an idea.

ok I got them. . . Do they have to all be 99%?

The stupid My College Quickstart thing took ages to fix since there was a Collegeboard error. . . just go it up today.

I thought I'd jump in on the PSAT/NMSQT Chances thread as well.

I got 67 M + 72 CR + 74 W = 213 SI.

Overall PA percentiles: 95 M / 98 CR / 99 WS.

I know I'm commended, but how do I fall for semifinalist contention? I saw that last year's cutoff for PA was 215. Do you think cutoffs will go down this year due to the harder Writing curve?

Also, say the cutoff for PA falls exactly at 213. Would I make it (on the number) or do you have to be higher than the cutoff (214+) to make it?

Thanks!

bump 10char

All I can tell you is that if the cut-off is 213 and you made a 213, then you would be a SF.

what about a 216 in CA?

Last year it was like 224 in MD and I barely made it. If you're in like NY, CA, MD, or MA I think you need at least a 220 prolly for SF

Anyone know if a 205 in Idaho has a shot?
Thanks!
