once the scores are officially released will i still need an access code or are those just for the time being?
@SincererLove Thanks! I did end up getting the TASP email (I found it in my spam), and I got a 214 on my sophomore PSAT.
@Chew97083 does the stanford summer program letter correlate with a relatively high Psat score???
When are you supposed to get an access code to check your PSAT score? What are you supposed to do with this access code? Does this mean one cannot simply view PSAT score from the College Board website without an access code?
Hi. So the i called CB and this year the idea is that the code can be given by GC if u either don’t have an account or your grid wasn’t automatically matched. On CB Twitter they keeps saying in the morning and throughout the day as to when scores will be released. I called and guy said starting around 7 all day staggered to keep site from crashing if
You have an account you will get email saying scores R posted but u can check all day
So if you DO have a College Board account, then you don’t need this Access Code to see your PSAT score starting tomorrow? Is that how it works?
Can someone that saw their scores early give an approximation of how many you can miss to get a 70/76 in each section?
Right based on the email and your name and DOB computer should be able to match your test with your account so you shouldn’t need code. Guy told me not till 7am tho.
I’m so nervous about qualifying for the NMSF, I’m from Massachusetts so our cut off has always been insanely high ugh
@class0f2017 for math I would say around -9 or -10 since I missed 8 and got 710 and most likely around the same for r+w
@specialsnowflake Wow that seems like an amazing curve. I think there are a few more questions this year but I mentioned before how I missed 4 last year and omitted none and got a 680. IIRC the only addition was some Algebra II topics right? I don’t remember anything past Algebra II and I don’t think there is trig.
Another Question: This one is about the Writing curve. @payn4ward said her son got -5 questions on the Writing/Language section. This left him with a 33 Selection Index. On the concordance tables, it says a 33 SI from the 2015 PSAT corresponds with a 63 on the old PSAT. Does this mean that the writing curve on this new PSAT is so steep that missing only 5 gives you a 630 (to then average in with your Reading score)?
Does anyone know if your online access code from the big sheet your school sends is the same every year?
Looking at the concordance it would seem that selection index scores are 6 points lower this year. For example, Texas’ cutoff was 219 last year. This year’s cut off would be 213. The prepscholar article was assuming a 12 point difference. They would have predicted the cutoff score at 207 for Texas but it is likely going to be 213.
@likestowrite It seems Writing is very steep.
Consequently, for us, 2015 Selection Index 205 becomes 2014 Concordance 200. Oh well.
@mnpapa29 did you do the section to section concordance or just the overall score?
Does the selection index round up/down? For example, if you missed 3 on Math and got a 750, that’s a 37.5. Would this round up to a 38, or be used as a decimal?
@payn4ward I am not sure what you mean. Do you mind restating it?
@mgyphs So for California since the cut-off was 223, the new one is predicted to be around 223-6=217? That’s really high -_-.
