@swimmergal the last two years I’ve had to use an access code from an email, but based on the glitch earlier some people might have them preloaded.
And with regard to TASP email, I got a 68 in Writing (99th percentile) last year and didn’t get the TASP email.
@loquatical can you elaborate? like would you think higher than 220?
When do you find out FOR SURE you made the National Merit Semifinalist cutoff for your state?
@YoohooAddict Huh, I got a 68 on writing and did get the TASP email. But I also got a 68 on writing and a 76 on math so…
@websensation …misread your question
@garyasho2 I just went to the link you sent and I nearly had a heart attack—I saw my old PSAT score (which I didn’t do stellar on) and I thought it was the new one LOL
@websensation I think you only find out in September. Correct me if I’m wrong, anybody else?
I got something from Duke TIP today. Didn’t seem like it was tailored to a specific event (like PSAT release) but I don’t believe they’ve really sent me anything before.
@YoohooAddict I think the TASP email was based in the overall score not subscores. I got a 63 on the writing subscore and still got the email I’m guessing because I had 205 overall
Specifically, when next year? Isn’t there a specific date?
this is a hard one… i honestly dont trust collegeboard. I mean they are a corporation and people who should not have gotten the emails got one. But one the other hand, would they feel the need to lie about it and post it on their public twitter account?
65 writing, got TASP. My CR was decent but math was abysmal.
@websensation You will find out if you get NMSF in September.
God, I am so nervous for the scores. I hope everyone will be happy with their score!
@BunnyBlue,
After testing some scenarios, I realize the concordance table is of little use
Take 2015 NMSI of 206 with various component sub score
2015 score
Reading Wrtiting Math NMSI
38 38 27 206
27 38 38 206
38 27 38 206
32 33 38 206
35 34 34 206
When translated to 2014 equivalent score we get
2014 Score NMSI
79 78 52 209
51 78 79 208
79 48 79 206
60 63 79 202
67 65 68 200
and the NMSI varies from 200 to 209 (and you can do the same calculations the other way also)
So, the set of people who will be rewarded would have been very different if all had taken old format PSAT for two reasons.
- The score distribution is not the same in Reading, Writing and Math
- The new format possibly rewarded different skills than the old SAT.
I guess only knowing the current NMSI percentile ranking would help to find if one would get selected for NM or not.
Now we know why CB took such a long time to release the results
It honestly be dangerous for then to tell such a boldface lie on a public site like twitter, which is what makes me think it was true. It’ll be so easy to tell too, if it does end up being a lie
@stresstasticlife Lol… that happened to me the first time I logged into the site as well.
i got a 178 last year as a sophomore. how unrealistic is it that i improved enough to get nm. I went into the test sophomore year without studying or even knowing what the test was.
Online, will it only tell you your raw score or will it tell you the selection index?
