Psat help!

I'm an international student and I received 215 on my PSAT for Oct 2011.

Will I be able to qualify for the commended status? (top 50,000)

I think the commendation comes as an overall basis for all PSAT takers, and the commendation usually is around the low-mid 200s looking at the percentiles. I think you’ll qualify for commendation.

Depending on what state you are. Most states are low-mid 200s as above but, if I remember correctly, there are some states that have the cutoffs all the way in the 220s… But i’m not sure. Whatever’s the case, you have a solid chance for commendation.

I’m an inernational student. I don’t live in the states haha

I was just wondering if that score was enough to be commended. I’m pretty sure it will be diffiuclt for me to make it to the semifinalists because the inernational semifinalist cutoff was 223 last year. I saw that commendation cut offs were at 203 last year.

So I guess this means I’ll probably be commended with a 215?

Commendations are based on the national level and semi-finalists are based on a statewide level.

You will have made commendation, guaranteed. As far as the semi-finalist cut-off goes, you definitely did not make it. The cut-offs have been steadily increasing year over year.
