hi, i just finished my 8th grade year and i am hopin to apply to several prep schools for my 10th grade year. Last year i took the PSAT and i was compared to juniors in the percentile. I will also be taking the test in my freshman year. I was wondering, will prep schools recognize that i was being compared to students in a different grade?? i placed in the 76 junior percentile.

That's excellent for a percentile (compared tp juniors) However, you should know that you're going to have to submit the SSAT. Only people apllying to be juniors and seniors can submit the PSAT in lieu of the SSAT.

thank you!! the problem about the SSAT is that i live in germany and my school doesnt administer the test and the test site is quite a long way away and it will in a german environment. Is there a way that a school official can administer it?? if not, i take a standardized test every year, will schools accept these and the PSAT scores in lieu of the SSAT??

What schools are you considering?

i want to apply to MPS A/E and a school called Salem Academy in North Carolina. i am still looking at other schools as well. Also, do you think the SSAT would be more difficult than the PSAT???
-thanks!!

haha no. The SSAT is meant for mainly middle schoolers. The PSAT is meant for high schoolers. If you scored that high on the PSAT, you'll have no problem on the SSAT.

SSAT is much easier than the PSAT, so it shouldn't be a problem.

does anyone have ideas about my SSAT administering problem??

Some schools also accept ISEE scores, so check if that test is more convienient for you.

If I'm applying to be a junior, does every school allow me to sub the PSAT for the SSAT? I did so well this year (freshman) on the PSAT. I think I would do better on the PSAT next year than on the SSAT.

So...can anyone asnwer my question? Heh...heh
