I went from a 186 or so to a 216. Knowing how to properly take the test and prep ftw.

I went down 1 point this year (Junior) from last year, which made me mad since I actually studied for it this year.

I got 184 as a sophomore, and 221 as a junior. I don't remember the sophomore breakdown, but I think Writing was in the high 60s, Math was low 60s, and Reading was probably only 50-something. But junior year I got 66 in Reading (still not good), 75 in Math (-1) and 80 in Writing. My studying was a three-month long SAT prep course over the summer before junior year. Good luck with next year's test.

I got a 164 as a sophomore and a 210 as a junior. I was mad, because I only needed to get three more in the CR + M to get 220, which is the cap for nat'l merit semifinalist. As was, I was surprised I went up 36(360) points, but it helped that I actually studied in eleventh grade, so it helped.

Mine went up 213 to 222, and I didn't study.

173->197.

All the other people make me feel dumb, heh.

Don't worry, there can be a big improvement between sophomore and junior year in PSAT. I got a 179 (maybe? or a 189?) sophomore year. Junior year I got a 230 and have a SAT score to match, with little to no studying. You become a more mature student in a year. My friends similarly improved a lot. Some, however, started off very strong (they broke 215 sophomore year) and went down to around a 210 junior year, although I don't know how much they studied/how they studied.

Soph - 199
Junior - 211. =(

I went from a 203 as a soph to a 213 as a junior. I didn't really study that much either time. Obviously, I think studying can help, but also in the year between you learn more stuff and mature as a test taker.

Soph: 198
Junior: 228

From soph 194 10/07
To junior 222 10/08

i failed soph year lol no prep whatsoever

and the curve for 08 psat was ridiculous

missed 2 writing and the curve was dam hard too for writing 73
