PSAT math questions!!!!

It was II only.

really? why??

a lot of people got that wrong.... i don't remember the exact question so i can't tell you why. but does anyone remember any more? and E was an answer -- 11, for the prime number thing, right? like the number squared + 4 or whatever..

yeah 11 was right

lol what the heck? answer must be odd? i said 16 + 36 = 52... hmmm can there even be an odd answer? stop scaring us. lol there cant be odd... don't freak out margaret.

how was math in general for you?

its impossible for it to be odd. you had to find two odd roots. so their squares would be odd. and an odd plus an odd is an even.

i think it was sq rt of 25, sq rt of 25.

so = 50

there are numerous solutions for that one.

i thought it was relatively easy. im a sophomore, so there were a couple problems with which i was unfamiliar. but otherwise, it went well. the free responses were really straightforward. i think i got em all.

crap! wait so the roots had to be odd? i said 16 + 36, but they aren't odd...

o man...

they had to be odd numbers that equaled 10, so therefore the roots would have to be odd.

odd*odd=odd

is 1 an odd number? ****

I don't remember the temperature one at all. What was the question again?

There was another one about a flower shop, answer was $250,000.

hmm wait.. oh man... did i say 16 + 36 or 49 + 9... i dont even remember anymore. sigh ah well...

yeah the flower shop was weird, but i said 250000 by process of elimination

the temperature was its 6am and 11c. temperature increases by same amount all day until 3 and then decreases by that same amount until 9 when it was 16c. what was the temp at 2pm?
it was 27c

sorry, it was 17c at 9

flower shop was 250000, no need for Process of elimination - just find the percent that the violets and tulips were part of... something like that. anyway, yeah.
and 27 degrees as as stated before. and the square roots didn't have to be an odd number..

it was odd numbers that when added together equal 10, i believe.

the number that you wrote down would have been even.

odd + odd = 10
odd * odd = odd
odd + odd = even
