PSAT Math Section Scoring Help?

Hi,
I got my PSAT scores in math a while ago, but used that test as a practice test to see how I've improved in just the math section this week. I'm really confused on how it's scored though, and if someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it! Using the idea of adding all the correct answers - (# got wrong * .25) I got 25 points. I did it with my official PSAT Scores as well, where I got 20 points last fall and got 50. So I know I got more than 50, but I have no clue how it all gets added up since PSAT has 38 questions instead of 52 like the real PSAT.

Thank you!

You need the score conversion table to see what your points(25 here) translate to a math score on the 20-80 scale.

See the image below, that is the conversion chart for the 2008 PSAT. You will need a similar one for the test you took.

On this particular chart going from 20 to 25 changes the scaled score from 51 to 57, however this is dependent on the particular PSAT test.
