PSAT National Achievement (NOT MERIT!)

Hey guys!

So I know that National Merit did send out letters already, I got one and I was wondering that if I was recognized National Merit, will I be recognized in National Achievement - the one for African Americans?
I did check off the option when I took the PSAT last year as a junior, since I am, in fact, black, but I haven't heard from Nat'l Achievement at all. My guidance counselor said that maybe I won't be able to get both. Is that true?

thanks.

buuuuuuuummmmmmmmmpppppppppp

Your GC is incorrect. My DS who graduated last month was both a National Merit Finalist and a National Achievement Finalist.

No, no. Your Guidance Counselor is incorrect. While you can receive money from only one of the two organizations, you can be recognized as a finalist/semifinalist by both.

ksarmand is right. This is what I found from the National Achievement Scholarship Program[website](http://www.nationalmerit.org/nasp.php</a>):

OK thanks, that cleared up a lot. :)
