PSAT National Achievement

Dammit. I made a 188.

What is the cut off for Texas this year? prays

sorry but none of the cutoffs are below 200 i believe.

I found a post by NSM back in January 2004:

"From what I have seen on boards, 190 and higher will get one Achievement Scholarships if your gpa is about a 3.5 and your SATs are at least 1200. I am not sure whether the gpa is weighted or unweighted. "

There have been people on these boards that say that they are National Achievement finalists and have scores in the 180s, so just cross your fingers and hope for the best.

So if you have 195 and 94% percintile you still have a chance?

national acheivement? ive never even heard of this. but for semi finalists, nothing under 200 would cut it.

National achievement is a separate but related program for minority students.

It was definitely possible back in 2003. I'm sure it still is. I'm not eligible for the program myself though, so I could be wrong.

my friend is a national achievement finalist this year (as a senior) and she got like a 193...

I got National Hispanic Scholar and mine was in the 190's...

sorry, my above post should be semi-finalist

No, Nat'l Achievement cutoff is lower than 200s, people.

Grr, so nobody knows? I live in Texas, so I'm doubting I made it. I just hope... I haven't seen a black person in my class who made over 190 and I go to a regular AND IB school. Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed...

I think the cutoff is around the low 190s (192 ish).

I'm hoping its atlaest 188 :X Prob not... T__T

You know what upsets me the most? I missed 4 or 5 math questions I should have gotten right. 2 Wr I should have gotten right and... well CR I did my absolute best which is all I can ask for. I think if I hadn't made stupid mistakes I could have made 190-192, you think?

I'll get that $500-$1000 from some other scholarship somehow... :( I hope.

good luck, but remember half the national merit finalists don't even end up geting money though :S
