You can check with your GC whether the report you already sent NMSC in 4/05 will be sufficient. My kid sent his around when he turned in his NMF application in the fall of senior year, as per instructions in the application packet.

The website says that if you recieved a letter from NMSC giving you the score report option, that means that you are one of 50,000 high scorers. In September, they will designate 34,000 commended students and 16,000 Semi-Finalists, and send a letter to you. In February, they pick 13,000 Finalists, and then about 8,000 winners.

1824,
If you do make the semi-finalist cut-off in September, I'd guess that the SAT score report that you sent in April will still be fine. The NMSC likely functions much like colleges, starting a file on you when they get the score report even though they don't have an application yet. I don't know this for a fact, but if you do make semi-finalist, give them a call and ask before you spend $8 on another score report.

IF you make it to NMSF in the fall of senior year, you'll get an info packet & application to apply for NMF. There is a lot of good info in the packet. On the form, there is a spot to designate when you sent your SAT scores to NMSC. As I said, your GC can provide good info, as can a phone call or e-mail to NMSC.

I wouldn't assume the score you sent already would be OK or NOT OK due to the timing & suggest you verify before spending more money or assuming the score will work. They're pretty nice about answering phone calls & most GCs have good info as well.

international students aren't eligible for the scholarship right?

kennyk616: Unless they have American citizenship or can demonstrate that they're on the way to getting it, that's right.
