Does anyone know how reliable Compass’s estimations are ???
@SlayMeLove , nobody can give any guarantees but Art from Compass is pretty much the most respected authority around when it comes to this topic. You may see other “experts” giving projections but Art will be honest and uses very in-depth data to come up with his projections.

I heard that this year’s PSAT was much easier than last year’s, so I’m thinking that the cutoffs will go up. My state’s cutoff (CA) was 222 for the Class of 2018, but almost all of my friends and I received higher than that, so there’s my reasoning (probably limited) for an increase.
@BertieMom she must have done great on the English! Congrats! My daughter got a 1470 and SI of 118 which is not even close for NJ unfortunately, but still very happy with her score
Just got a 222 in CA. Right on the edge. What are chances for cutoff to rise to 223?
mine got a 221…nervous for CA because it probably won’t go down 1. @bagette I don’t think it will go up.
@LvMyKids2 According to CompassPrep, the range is 220-223 so there’s still hope that might go down. We’re hoping Art is right with his estimate of 222 for California or too high. I guess we’ll just have to wait until Sept for the results.

Do you get Telluride email because of PSAT or SAT?
Based upon what I heard, Telluride email is based on PSAT. But, not sure if its based upon Sophomore or Junior year score. Also, not sure how they get psat scores before students.

Long story short, looks like Telluride sends emails to top psat scorers in the area. Not sure if it has anything to do with student search service opt in.
TASP(Telluride) is based on PSAT scores.
What is the student search service opt in?
Forget it. Looked it up on College Board. S19 did not opt in. We don’t have his score yet and did not get an email from Telluride. He did receive an email from some educational research firm today that says he was sent the email because of his “academic profile”. Hasn’t received anything from this company in the past. I’m not thinking there’s much to garner from that. Just waiting another day or so and we will finally know!
I don’t have my scores and no email from TASP:(.
I know I’m beating a dead horse, but I find it frustrating that so many others have theses scores in hand, except for the student who actually took it. So the person directly affected by the test does not have access to the scores yet, but counselors, summer programs, etc do.
