lets go guys!

here’s some i remember:

(vocab)

alleviate

lucid…unencumbered

demagogue

effusive

volatile…subdued

comedian passages:

both authors used personal voice

author of passage one would completely agree with quotation

attitudes were: p1 characterized the comedian’s efforts as futile, and auth of p2 admired the audacity of the comedian

“base” meant foundation in context

mars passages:

p1 was topographical, p2 was mineralogical

if more carbonates were found it would directly support p1

information passage:

the one about erasmus shows shifting attitudes

the “contemporary dweller” shows worldly awareness

the “desert island” meant that the less books there were, the more people would appreciate them

LET’S DO THIS!

6.prosaic

It was in one of the SC choices.

EDIT: NVM I thought you were asking for what vocab words were in it. I agree with Shark btw.

is not effusive…it’s supercilious.

yeah, it’s effusive

positive

volatile…subdued

Nah I think it’s “belied” Isn’t it the Mt. Helen question?

6.prosaic

I think it’s lucid+unencumbered. Prosaic has a negative connotation. It doesn’t work well with the sentence because it praises the poet’s works.

no its supercilious.

its effusive

it has to be

the sc was all about how the guy was never extravagant in showing emotion, how he was temperate…he was never…effusive.

the sc was all about how the guy was never extravagant in showing emotion, how he was temperate…he was never…effusive.

I put “somber” for that one.

(vocab)

alleviate

lucid…unencumbered

demagogue

effusive

volatile…subdued

deftly…unnecessary

passage about alexander the great:

purpose was to show divergent views of alexander the great

the line question basically showed how alexander the great was obsessed with power

comedian passages:

both authors used personal voice

author of passage one would completely agree with quotation

attitudes were: p1 characterized the comedian’s efforts as futile, and auth of p2 admired the audacity of the comedian

“base” meant foundation in context

mars passages:

p1 was topographical, p2 was mineralogical

the “contemporary dweller” shows worldly awareness

the “desert island” meant that the less books there were, the more people would appreciate them

the painting passage:

first two paragraphs talk about how she wanted to be a sculptor (POSITIVE ON THIS)

the parenthetical sentence was about how she admired mishigi’s paintings

she had a desire to create powerful art

she wanted to immortalize herself in art

she liked mishigi’s art because it displayed vitality

dude just use the other PSAT thread…

power, there are way too many people posting on that thread at the same time.

first two paragraphs talk about how she wanted to be a sculptor (POSITIVE ON THIS)

No, the first two para talked about how she was frustrated with her work. Sculptor was only a side idea.

I thought the one with supercilious was the one about the guy treating everyone with respect and as his equal, so he wasn’t supercilious, which means arrogant.

What was number 2 about? I forgot the question.

i agree with kscnoko about showing she was frustrated with her work

kscnoko, that’s what i thought initially.
but you had to look pretty closely

it said later on in the 1st or 2nd para that her frustrations were only a minor factor

I’m pretty sure it’s supercilious.

I agree with Kscnoko about the first two paragraphs talking about her frustration of her work. It only mentioned she wanted to be a sculptor because she was frustrated at first with her painting.

no. 2 was about

if people want to enjoy and understand this book, this author’s lucid…whatever can’t remember it lol

yeah seriously this is not the voice of the people

yeah, i’m almost positive it’s supercilious.
